How it works
The MLK vertical roller mill is an externally loaded disc-type mill. The electric motor drives the grinding table via a main reducer, causing the table to rotate and three grinding rollers to spin. Blast furnace slag enters the mill's feed trough through the feeding device and drops to the center of the grinding table. Under centrifugal force generated by the rotating table, the slag moves toward the table's edge and is ground in the zone between the lower part of the grinding rollers and the upper part of the table liner. The ground material passes over the dam ring at the table's edge, where it is lifted by hot air jets from the nozzle ring into the classifier mounted above the mill. The classifier separates fine particles that meet specifications; coarse material falls back onto the grinding table via the return chute for re-grinding. Iron particles not carried away by the hot air are separated by a precision magnetic separator during the external circulation process.
